What is Twitter’s blue tick?

The Twitter blue tick is a symbol displayed on a Twitter user’s profile that indicates that the account has been verified by Twitter. This verification process confirms the authenticity of the user’s identity, indicating that the account is operated by a real person or organization that is noteworthy or of public interest. The blue tick badge can help to establish credibility and trust, and it can also help to differentiate verified accounts from potentially fake or impersonating accounts.

Twitter, which is owned by Elon Musk, has begun removing blue check marks from users who do not have a Twitter Blue subscription. Several users, including celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, MS Dhoni, Roger Federer, and former US President Donald Trump, have lost the blue Tick for their Twitter accounts.

Blue tick marks on Twitter accounts aided in confirming their identification and distinguishing them from imposters. It was open to working professionals such as journalists, organizations, and government officials. All that was required was to apply for a verification program in order to receive a blue tick for their account.

However, things began to change when Elon Musk took over as CEO of Twitter. He stated in February 2023 that the business will soon begin deleting the ‘legacy check marks’ from Twitter accounts. Twitter said in March that starting April 1, only premium customers’ accounts would have verified markings. This means that a user must be a Twitter Blue subscriber in order to receive a blue checkmark on his or her account.

Here we explain the pricing, eligibility, and other facts that will help you achieve a blue tick on Twitter.
